We’re excited to announce we’re expanding our services in Shell!
In the spring of 2020, we’re going to re-open the Old Shell Store. We’re aiming for April – but anyone that has taken on a project like this knows opening dates can be a moving target.
Built in 1897, the Shell Store/Lodge has a rich history (and quite a bit of folklore). Since we came to Shell, both locals and visitors alike have shared their memories of visiting the old store. We’re honored at the opportunity to help people make new memories there!
What are we going to offer? A couple things! A general/convenience store – much like we do at the campground now but expanded.
More excitingly, we’re going to expand our cafe. We’re still honing in menu options – but burgers and pizza (and pastry!) are recurring favorites. Whatever menu we settle on, we prioritize being able to consistently deliver a delicious, quality meal.
We’re teaming up with some old friends with standards as high as ours: Jeremiah and Tori Karr. Tori is a culinary ninja with an always-expanding set of skills. In particular, she has professional pastry experience that will deliver amazing baked goodies you won’t find anywhere else in the area. Jeremiah is a professional videographer with an impressive client list (he’s the pro behind the campground and Bad Medicine promos we showed over the summer). We know they will be a great fit in the community and hope you will give them the same gracious welcome you gave us.
The campground will, of course, remain a full service campground! The current campground store/cafe will make an excellent space for group events like family reunions.
Stay tuned as things develop! We have setup a few channels for you to follow along on the Shell Store progress:
